The Candy Apple Old Fashioned is made with Crown Royal Apple, Bulleit Rye, Frangelico, and cinnamon apple cider, while the Coconut Cinnamon Margarita combines Tres Generaciones Reposado Tequila, Grand Marnier, coconut, torched cinnamon, and lime notes. Raven Café isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s a literary-themed haven for drink enthusiasts with over 8,000 combinations of drinks. “We don’t limit the ‘holiday drinks’ such as pumpkin spice or gingerbread lattes to just the holidays—we serve them year-round,” shares owner Sadaat Hossain. “However, the biggest seller on the coffee menu is the Café Crème Caramel, hands down. It’s an espresso-based drink flavored with vanilla, caramel, and (SURPRISE) cinnamon!” Whether served hot, iced, or ice-blended, this drink is a must-try for cinnamon lovers. Other excellent options include the Hot Spiced Cider and Cider Supreme, with caramel, a cinnamon stick, and topped with whipped cream.

O.W.L.

Known for its Mexican-American twist on diner classics, O.W.L. serves up a Grilled Cinnamon Roll that’s anything but ordinary. Beyond the Creme Brûlée French Toast and the Frida & Diego Skillets (aptly named as the DIA is located steps away), you’ll find fresh churros. Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and dusted generously with cinnamon sugar, these churros make for a perfect snack or dessert. Served with salted caramel and chocolate dipping sauces, they’re an indulgent way to enjoy this versatile spice after a meal (or on their own!).

Avalon International Breads brings cinnamon into its menu in more ways than one. Beyond its signature baked goods, the café features a variety of tea and coffee drinks enhanced with a dash of this spice. The Woodward location has a variety of coffee cocktails with cinnamon and whipped cream, including their Irish Coffee (whiskey and brown sugar sea salt syrup), Spanish Coffee (Kahlua, orange liqueur, and rum), and Butter Me Up, with butterscotch Schnapps, Rumchata, and Kahlua. Their Banana Nut Chai is also delicious if you’d prefer a House Drink. For a heartier option, head to the Canfield location and try their Protein Bowl, which is filled with blueberries, granola, almonds, and maple syrup, offering a balance of sweetness and nutrition. For something more calming, the Ann Arbor location has Cinnamon Rooibos tea from Arbor Tea, which is excellent to pair with one of their breakfast or lunch offerings. 

SUPERGEIL

2442 Michigan Avenue, Detroit

Supergeil brings global influences to its Corktown location, with menu items ranging from Honeynut Squash Labneh to Moroccan Beignets and Eggplant Döner. As for cinnamon, Supergeil celebrates this spice with its southern-inspired cocktails. Their NOLA-style Brandy Milk Punch and Coquito are rich, creamy cocktails that bring a bold punch to every sip. Both feature Apple Brandy and nutmeg, while the Brandy Milk Punch has Cinnamon Demerara and heavy cream, while the Coquito is made with rum, coconut, and condensed milk. These delicious cocktails are a testament to how cinnamon can transform a beverage.
